I am getting a new MacBook in the fall and I was wondering if I can reinstall designer on the new laptop with my affinity account as the new laptop will have a different Apple ID but I registered my designer app with my gmail and the same with my affinity account or am I going to have to purchase it again? As I had bought designer through the Apple Store? Or am I able to reinstall it on the new laptop with just my affinity account?

Thank you, I did actually do that last night after I found from a friend who had gone through this apparently, had no idea at the time I posted and didn’t think to ask. They informed that affinity couldn’t do anything since I bought through Apple. They at Apple tried but unfortunately they couldn’t do nothing. Figured I’d try at least before I went ahead and rebought then discovering later it could have been transferred.

What requires you to use a different Apple ID with your new machine?
