Hi,

Running Affinity Photo here...I'm sure it's something very simple but I can find no way to paste content from one open doc to another.

In one tab, I have a new Social Media Portrait Post created via File>New

In another tab, I have a jpeg that opened and removed the background from. It is a single layer which has been rasterised. I can select the image using marquee. The selection can be cut and repasted into the same doc.

But when I switch tabs to the Social Post, I can't paste. Nothing appears. If I copy and paste the layer from the jpeg, the layer is pasted (I see the name appear in the layers stack) but nothing is visible in that layer.

Kinda losing my mind. Please help.

Hi Neek,

Welcome to the forums :)

Please could you provide a screen recording showing this as it should be working fine for you.

Thanks

Try making a new Pixel layer in your Social Media document and pasting. Just me grasping at straws here.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Possibly it's outside your visible screen area. The Navigator panel might help you find it if you pan around in that panel. Or, with the layer selected in the Layers panel, make sure you have the Move tool selected and check the X/Y position in the Transform panel.

Don't have a select any area? Try to Deselect All before Paste.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I did think it might be outside my screen area at the time but zooming way out didn't reveal anything.

However, I repeated my steps from last night to make a screen recording...and now it works. Good news! Must have been a gremlin in the system.
