Hi @Tinkylee,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

As can be seen from the following links, the Sony A7R III a isn't currently a supported device for opening RAWs in Affinity Photo -

https://support.apple.com/en-my/HT211241

RAW support is provided either by 'LibRAW' or 'AppleCore' RAW engines for our iPad apps, meaning we must wait for one of these third parties to include support for these files, before Affinity can open them. Unfortunately this means we can't provide any timescales for this at this time, my apologies.

I hope this clears things up!

According to LibRaw's list the A7R III is a supported camera.

I can confirm that the A7R III is not the same as the A7R III a (Alpha) model, the A7R III a is a more recently released version of the A7R III with a few updated specs. Hopefully this will be included within LibRAW / AppleCore shortly :)

欢迎来到亲和力论坛:)

从以下链接中可以看出,索尼A7R III a目前不支持在Affinity Photo中打开RAW的设备-

https://support.apple.com/zh-cn-my/HT211241

So, can I just wait?

Unfortunately that's correct, we have to wait for these third parties to add support for this specific model :)

All the articles I've read about this camera talk about minor improvements only - there's no mention of changes to the sensor or processing engine.  Given that "not supported" isn't the same as "doesn't work", is it possible that A7IIIa images should work?  Are there any sample images on-line?

I agree, it's very likely that the camera sensor is very similar, if not the same as the previous model - however combatibility for RAW files often comes down to the information in the RAW file and how the camera firmware has 'written' the file. As the original model was released 2-3 years ago, the firmware the new Alpha model is using is very likely to have been updated and it's possible there is a new line of information or a change in the format of the RAW file that means the Affinity app simply can't read it - as it's being given information it cannot process.

I suspect if you try converting the RAW files to DNG, these may open as expected, but as with any conversion your mileage may vary.

I've had a look, but been unable to find any thus far - if the OP is willing to provide a sample here I can certainly do some further testing and double check with our devs that we can't change anything internally to allow the image to open correctly in it's current state?
