how to draw a straight line without node appearing?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks

I am trying to draw a straight line in a document with the Pen Tool and holding down the shift key.

How do I stop the tool at this point and begin a new line?

Have just watched a video of this but the lady missed out how to "disconnect" the cursor from continuing into the next "node".

Thanks in advance

BarryP- Do you know how to restore the straight line when using the Pen tool / Shift/Click?

Thanks

I think you can use the Escape key as mentioned by Greriel. I take it that what you are wanting to do is draw some curve lines, then a straight line, then some curved lines. Or you are wanting to draw several independent straight lines, the escape key will end the current line you are drawing and keep your Pen tool read start the next line be it curved or straight.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Somehow the guides on my pen tool got changed and I get unwanted diagonal  lines...all I want are straight lines...I just would like to set it back to the default setting cause it's impossible to work with.

View > Grid and Axis Manager

Then:

  1. Make sure that if the Mode says "Advanced" that you have a "Standard" grid type selected.
    and
  2. If the Mode says "Advanced" or "Cube" that you check the "Additional snapping axis setup" and for "Intermediate angles" specify "Do not add".
