Snapshot
I stumbled across this website that promotes the idea of doing your sharpening only on the L channel in LAB mode - Sharpening in LAB Color - Photo.net - Articles When using Unsharp Mask, I've always set the Blend Mode to Luminosity, is this essentially the same thing? It seems a lot simpler.
firstdefence
Luminosity and LAB Lightness are different beasts but essentially produce the same result so do whichever is easiest... j3rry
I use my own 1-2-3-L recipe for sharpening with great success. Radius 1, amount 2,threshold 3 and level mode "luminosity". This is my starting point and with a zoom level of 100-200% I fine tune it to suppress artefacts.
