Chris1212 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Hello together I have not been able to use the cutting tool for a few months now, I can select the area with this dashed field, but as soon as I release the mouse button, the field disappears again. I hope someone here can help me. Kind regards Chris Quote
R C-R Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 By cutting tool I am guessing you might mean one of the tools that creates "marching ants" selections (like the Freehand Selection Tool or the Rectangular Marquee Tool, to name two of them). If so, check the Mode setting in the context toolbar -- if it is set to subtract, try new or add instead. If you mean some other tool, please hover the pointer over it in the Tools panel until its name pops up & then tell us what that name is. walt.farrell Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Chris1212. If you're referring to one of the selection tools, as R C-R mentioned, another possibility for you to check is the Feather value in the Context Toolbar. Having it too large could cause the symptom you describe. iconoclast Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Do you mean the Crop Tool (C) in the Toolbar of Photo? In that case you have to press the "Apply"-Button in the contextbar of the tool after you dragged the frame to the size you want, to finish your Cutting. Quote
