Hi all,

Just wondering - is it possible to first install the Affinity Suite on my current Mac, and then in the future install it to a new Mac without purchasing another product key?

I recently bought the suite to take advantage of the 50% sale that ended last month, and while my current 2014 Macbook Pro is usable, I would much rather use the apps on a future, faster Macbook Pro if we can only use the product key once.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

If you are replacing the old computer with a new one, and will retire the old computer, the answer is certainly yes.

If you would be planning to keep both computers, then given the username you picked, you might be using the applications for commercial purposes. And in that case the answer gets a little more complicated as the licensing terms are different for a commercial organization than for an individual who happens to be using the appliations for commercial purposes.

Thanks for the response! My situation will be closer to the latter - an individual using the Affinity Suite for commercial purposes.

My main reason for asking is because I would love to get started and hone my skills on the desktop versions of the suite (I have the iPad versions). My plan is to install it in my 2014 MacBook Pro, and when it comes time for me to purchase a new MacBook, retire the 2014 and work exclusively on the new one (as you also suggested).

I guess my main concern and query is: Is there a limit to how many times we can use the product key?

No, there's no limit on the number of times you can use the product key. The limit is a legal one based on the terms of the license, which say that if you purchase as an individual you can use it on as many computers that you own or control, of the same kind of OS (all Mac, or all Windows, or all iPad), as you want. There are additional details that would affect others using your computers.
