Sandra Aska
I have difficulty reading your website because of background being black. The white type hardly shows on a small laptop screen. Can this be changed to white background with black type. The tutorials were impossible to see and as a former Adobe user, I need your tutorials. Help, thanks, Sandra Aska
firstdefence
Welcome to the forum @Sandra Aska Which Operating System are you using? Which web browser are you using? If the Operating System allows, do you have dark mode set on the laptop? NotMyFault
Hi, the theme normally can be chosen in your browser or OS settings. Having a black background is indicating that you may have activated “night mode”. Can you please try to deactivate night mode? If you say which OS and browser you are using, we might be able to give more instructions where to find the settings. iconoclast
Depending on the Browser you use, there might be an option to zoom the website. I use Firefox, and there is such an option. Possibly that may help. At a pinch even a screen magnifyer may help. Generally I think that it would be nice if developers would consider a little more how things look on smaller screens like laptops. I especially have problems with the GUIs of some programs that don't fit to the screen of my laptop. Too big. But I don't know if Affinity programs are affected by this problem, because I don't use them on my laptop.
Staff Dan C Posted July 1, 2021 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2021 Hi @Sandra Aska, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Many thanks for your feedback and I'm certainly sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Affinity site currently. I will be sure to pass your comments through to our web team, to request an option to change the theme to a lighter colour. In the meantime, you can try using a web extension to inverse the colours on the page, such as Google Chromes official 'High Contrast' extension, which you can install and enable from the below link - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/high-contrast/djcfdncoelnlbldjfhinnjlhdjlikmph Please note I have not personally tested this here, as the results may differ from page-to-page. I hope this helps!
