In the upper picture the image of the heart seems to go outside the bounding box.

Is that right?

Also, is the heart that colour?

@William Overington Hey there! You are right. Only part of the image is selected. I have a shape with a bigger outline sitting behind the heart. The artboard above is a collection of multiple shapes, masks and outlines. Once I have the image where I like it. I convert all the lines to shapes and use the pathfinder to make compound shapes. The bottom image has a compound shape for each color.

And I don't think a heart is that color IRL, it's a play off of replacing the heart symbol ❤️. That's why I chose red. 🙃

Most mammal hearts that I have seen (including humans) are not far off that colour.  I spent my working life as a Lecturer in Animal Biology. I also worked in operating theatres in my student vacations.

It has been over 50 years since I was dissecting a human body in an anatomy class, but the way I remember it, yes. The heart is a muscular organ, so it is about the same color as the meat you can see in a butcher shop.
