I am using the resource manager to replace images - now it does not show anymore when I select it from the "view" panel. Other options like "Assistant Manager" show as usual. Thanks for you support

Welcome to the Affinity forums @ChrisDoering!

Try to exit the application and restart. I managed to hide the Resource Manager also, but was able to display it again after a restart.

Edit: And I am curious, what the coordinates of <ResourceManagerDialog> look like in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Designer\1.0\Settings\Window.xml".

Hi Joachim, thanks for your reply!

Re-starting dindn´t work, re-installing neither.

If I follow "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Designer\1.0\Settings\Window.xml", this is what I get (I hope this makes any sense...):

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

-<Settings xsi:type="Serif.Affinity.Settings.WindowSettings" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

<Display>1</Display>

<X>216</X>

<Y>21</Y>

</Location>

-<Size>

<Width>2717</Width>

<Height>1326</Height>

</Size>

<State>Normal</State>

-<Dialogs>

-<NewDocumentDialog>

<X>408</X>

<Y>80</Y>

<Width>1030.4</Width>

<Height>700</Height>

<Display>0</Display>

</NewDocumentDialog>

-<ExportDocumentPreviewDialog>

<X>429</X>

<Y>0</Y>

<Width>548</Width>

<Height>570.4</Height>

<Display>0</Display>

</ExportDocumentPreviewDialog>

-<ResourceManagerDialog>

<Y>1045</Y>

<Width>800</Width>

<Height>330</Height>

<Display>0</Display>

</ResourceManagerDialog>

</Dialogs>

</Settings>

Close the application, edit the XML and change 1045 to 30, save and start the application again.

I just had the same problem. I have a 3 monitor setup. I could not find the Resource Manager Window. I followed the XML edit, also I had to put a 2 in the <Display>2</Display> to make it show on my main monitor. Would this be some kind of multi-monitor bug then?

Welcome to the Affinity forums.

The Affinity applications have difficulty reacting to changes in the monitor configuration, which can be very annoying. So, for example, if you were using 3 monitors, and had the Resource Manager on monitor 3 the last time you used it, that would be remembered. If you now switch to a configuration without all 3 monitors, then the application will still try to display that panel on monitor 3, which no longer exists.

Another workaround, for now, would be to restart the application while holding the Ctrl key. You'l get a Clear User Data dialog, and you can uncheck the "Reset Studio" option but leave the other default options checked, and that will reset the window states for you, after which they should reflect your current monitor setup. This should be easier than finding and editing XML files, and should work on both Windows and macOS.

I don't know if there is a specific bug logged for this kind of behavior.
