Grimsby User Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Today I purchased all three of the Affinity range apps. I hit the following problems: Publisher didn't accept the product key details even though they WERE correct. Fortunately, a repeated attempt later in the day WAS successful. However, when I got to the Register part where it offered to download the extra free kits, the app instantly exited instead. Upon re-running it, it ran correctly, but there was no Register option with an offer to fetch the free kits. By using Help, I found out that I could re-open the Registration window via My Account. That enabled me to confirm that my Registration of Publisher HAD been accepted. So far so good, but there was still the matter of downloading the free kits included in the purchase price. But, opening my account also opened a window indicating "My Purchases". In that section all the kits are duly displayed. So, my question is - Even though at no point in the process was I given an opportunity to download these kits, , so to the best of my knowledge I have not yet downloaded them, am I correct or am I wrong in believing that I these kits are indeed present on my computer? (I have not yet made any attempt to use any of them to find out). If so, then all is well although I do not pretend to understand how they got there! Finally, again using Help -> My Account with all three apps, I see that all of them display the My Purchases list of kits and that each list is the same. Does this mean that the same kits are available and usable with all three programs? Quote
R C-R Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 In the window that the My Account button opens, you should see a list on the right named "My Purchases." This will include the free stuff. Each item in the list has an icon on the right. If it is a cloud symbol with a downward pointing arrow in it, it has not been downloaded & installed. Clicking on that cloud icon should start the download of that item & install it when the download is complete. Some items cannot be installed in the app (as assets, brushes, etc.) & they will have an icon that is a circle wityh the Affinity stylized A in it, & the name "store" below that. Clicking on these items will open the Affinity Store in your browser. If an item has been installed, the icon will be a checkmark in a circle. There are tooltips explaining this if you hover over the icons. Near the top right of the window is a 'hamburger' menu icon (looks like 4 horizontal lines). If you click on it it shows several options, one of which is to list incompatible packs. If it is not checked, then every pack shown will work with that app. Alfred 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
