Fonts will not embed in PDF from Publisher

I am creating a PDF book cover for KDP print. No matter what export settings I choose, no fonts are embedded.

On a few other postings I've seen people having problems with the wrong/too many fonts embedding, but not none at all. I've also tried the suggestions to open the afpub file in Aphoto and export from there, and also to uncheck the 'subset font' embedding. No luck with either.

The requirements are for flattened transparency and embedded fonts, so I've been using PDF/x1a:2003 with the following modifications: include bleed and embed all fonts.

The PDF gets created but there are no fonts embedded.

HI @beren,

Are those fonts protected? Some fonts can't be embedded in PDF. Check the licences or try in a dupplicated document with other fonts if the problem keep on.

No, none are protected. I've used them many times before.

@beren Can you confirm which fonts you've used and which OS are you using.

What process are you using to confirm the fonts aren't embedded?
