I've just bought three items from the Affinity store that include brushes - ChalkDust by Ian Bernard, Blast Powder Brushes by Ian Bernard, and The Rusty Nib by True Grit Texture Supply. All three claim compatibility with Photo, Designer and Publisher, and I AFAIK I have the latest versions of all three, all bought in the last month or so.

After installing these in Affinity Photo (through My Account in the application), they appeared in the Brushes studio as expected.

After also installing these in Affinity Designer (again, through My Account in the application), I can't find these brushes. The Brushes studio in Designer still shows the original categories such as Acrylics, but none of the new ones. However - they do seem to be there. I know because I assumed the install had gone wrong and tried manually importing the ChalkDust brushes, and that import said it succeeded and created a category "ChalkDust 2" - not "ChalkDust". This "ChalkDust 2" category also isn't listed, and nether is "ChalkDust 3" (I retried the manual import). So Affinity Designer is somehow aware of these brush categories, but doesn't list them in the Brushes studio so I can't seem to use them, nor can I delete the ChalkDust 2 and ChalkDust 3 categories (which although not displayed, are I assume at least wasting some space).

I have tried selecting different tools (mainly Pen, Pencil and Vector Brush, but also a selection of others) in case that makes a difference - the missing brush categories remain missing.

What am I doing wrong? Where should I be looking?

This seems an unlikely bug (or else many others would already have reported it?) but just in case, I am running Windows 10 64-bit 20H2 build 19042.1052 on a Ryzen 3700X PC, Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro motherboard, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD with 635GB free plus 3TB SATA hard drive, and with a ASUS GTX 1050Ti-based graphics card (until two weeks ago, a GTX 650-based graphics card - I hate the chip shortage).
