Font not displayed correctly when exporting in Pdf

Hi,

I hope you are doing well,

When i export artboard in PDF with the font Montserrat, i get this (screenshot below). It seems that the problem is with the font because with another font it works.

How to fix it please?

What does the original look like in Designer?

And what application are you using to view the PDF? What PDF export options did you use?

That all looks good to me.

Can you provide a sample .afdesign document that demonstrates the problem?

If it fails for you then I agree that perhaps your Montserrat font is broken. I really have no other ideas, but perhaps one of the font experts here will have some other thoughts.

When I export that file using the ‘PDF (for print)’ preset in AD on iPad, the PDF output initially looks correct but closer inspection reveals that the Montserrat text has been converted to curves.

Thanks for pointing that out, but it does not happen for me. It is still standard text as far as I can see. I can copy it, paste it, etc. and the PDF says it has the font in it.

All very odd! Something is clearly being handled differently.

FWIW, I only installed the Montserrat-Medium.ttf typeface from Google fonts on my iMac to test with, but with the OP's sample.afdesign I had no problems exporting it to PDF using the "PDF (for print)" or the "PDF (for export) preset. I did not test with any other preset, nor did I install any Montserrat typeface on my iPad to test with that device.

It is fixed, i delete the Montserrat font from my laptop and download it again.

Ok, I had a same problem with Monserrat. But with this PDF export setup, my PDFs are already displaying correctly without having to uninstall the font.

Forum hint: you can paste a JPG or PNG directly into a post, which makes it visible directly in the forum. That way users don't need to click on a link to a strange website they don't know.
