Hi

Sob storey first. Couple of months ago I have a crash, could not get much back from my system. All the backups would not restore. Spent a week working on getting it all back up and rebuilt to find it happened again. Cutting it short. I had installed a new sound card into the system and it was this that was causing the crashes. Once removed all back up and running for last 7 weeks.

I have at last caught up and want to use my Affinity Designer. Only to find that all my resources have vanished.

I have a particular need for the Network symbols and Layout ones . Honestly I have no idea where they came from whether they were internal to affinity or a freebie.

Can anyone assist me with this please, where are they, are they affinity, if free where were they from.

Any help greatly received.

Only assets I seem to have are 'IOS 12'. pretty sure I had quite a range before the crash.

Sorry to hear your tale of woe, Kevin! As for the network and layout symbols, that sounds like a DrawPlus thing: perhaps you exported them from there (as SVG or PDF files).

Hi Alfred,

Thanks for the reply. Now that's a thought that had not occurred. . Which makes me even more stuck, all my master softwares  went with the crash.

Do you have any idea if it would be worth asking here to see in anyone did what you said and exported them. Yep what the heck. Did anyone export the computer symbols from DrawPlus?

I still have a huge box of DVD's to go through, I may still have drawplus. But will take some finding.

Are there any free affinity sources of assets etc.

Nice to see you are still around by the way. Still supporting us!

Hi @Princy,

I'm certainly sorry to hear this also!

I can confirm that your Affinity account contains a few Asset kits that you may have had installed before you lost your data. Looking at your account through our admin process, I can see the Grade UI Kit specifically is listed here, which sounds like a good option for your use case.

To access these kits, simply sign into your Affinity Account at the below link -

In regards to the DrawPlus symbols, I have checked the forums for this resource provided by other users, however it does not seem as though this has been uploaded here previously, my apologies. I suspect there is also potential licensing issues with this, for Affinity users who did not own DrawPlus, so I'm not sure it's something we'd promote here either.

I hope this helps :)

Hi Alfred, DanC,

Thanks for the replies.

OK looked into the kits, none of them had anything to do with computers or networks. But appreciated because I'd actually forgotten about them.

Dan, after Getting  my better half to dig into some old boxes in  the attic, DrawPlus has been found. I have no idea if how to export all the computer icon's etc to be used in the Affinity.. Investigation is ongoing.

Thanks for your input  it's good to know you are about to assist.

Either publish whole pages as PDF or export individual objects as SVG.

Thanks Alfred,

SOrry  but I'm going to have to ask another question. I think when my system became corrupted and died on me so did my own brain.

I've converted all the graphics I want into svg as suggested.

How do I get them in as assets as a group call 'computer symbols'?

I can't find any way to do it!  It want's me to put them into swatches not assets.

TIA if you have the time.

Princy.

You’re just trying to confuse me, aren’t you, Kevin! Swatches, as I’m sure you know, are for colours.

Create a ‘computer symbols’ category in the Assets panel, create a subcategory for the symbols themselves, open your SVG file and add its content to the Assets subcategory that you created.
