Auto select through locked parent

I often use symbols  and have symbol container locked.   Would be nice to still be able to select off screen the first unlocked layer beneath locked parent/symbol container.

As an option/checkbox.     Like Photoshop one where you could switch in between groups and individual layers.   

Or better  be a kind of extra modifier for move tool V  like Alt click to select inside locked symbols  for example.
