Sweatman Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 I'm trying to integrate more raster into my vector (comfort zone) work. As I recall, if you select the Pixel Layer icon in the (Designer Persona) layer panel... you'd get a message saying something like "Hey! you're adding a pixel layer!" and then when you went to the Pixel Persona, you'd see your vector layer as a mask over your brush work. Nada. I see neither of those things anymore. Isn't it supposed to automatically switch to raster mode? So confused. Did I turn something off? Quote
R C-R Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 If you click the "Add Pixel Layer" button at the bottom of the layers panel, you should get a new empty pixel layer added to the Layer stack. There is no automatic switch to anything, so if you want to paint on that layer you need to select it & switch to the Pixel Persona & use its pixel tools for that. What type of message you get depends on what you are painting on and your Assistant Manager settings? 2 hours ago, Sweatman said: Did I turn something off? The Assistant Manager can be set to NOT notify you of the above messages but it will still perform the necessary action required Sweatman 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Sweatman Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 Update: I remembered now about the Assitant Manager notification. If you take your vectors into Pixel Persona and THEN start painting, Affinity will automatically create a pixel layer AND nest it accordingly. The helpful Assistant Mgr pop-up tells you that he just did that for you. Kbye. Quote

Mine tells me all kinds of stuff, but I am too slow to read it.
