How to merge vectorial layer

Hi all,

I have a vectorial draw (logo) which contain 2 objects that are above each other. I need to extract the exterior line. It is for a 3D logo creation so I don't need to have the above crossing but only the exterior.

It is OK for the line creation but I have some crossing ... I think I need to merge two of the layers but I need to keep the vectorial quality.

Not sure to be clear ..
