Hello,

I have created a table in Affinity Publisher. The format defaults to the default font (Arial). I have selected the full table and selected a different font. Cells that were not filled were unaffected and when I enter content into the cell, it defaults back to Arial, rather than using the font that was selected. Also, if I delete the content of the cell and enter new text, it will not keep the formatting selected, but default back to Arial. Any idea on how to retain the font format?

Thanks

Philippe

Interesting.
Applying a Text Paragraph Style to the cells applies the same formatting to all cells, even if they are empty, and any additional text in those cells has that formatting applied.
However, after applying a paragraph style, pressing Backspace in an empty cell causes the text formatting to revert to the default.
I don’t know if this is by design or not but I can’t think of a reason off the top of my head why someone would want it to do this.

Cant you just edit the existing Table Body text style and choose what (default) font you want for your tables?

I have created the file from a pdf, and for some reasons there are no styles that are available (so I do not have the Table Body style). I did create a style to be applied to the table. However, when I go in the cell (empty), apply the style, exit the cell and come back into the cell, it defaults back to "[No Style]".

Thanks

Philippe

Can you upload an Affinity Publisher document with a page created from that PDF that has a table in it?

Formatting of tables seems a bit more complex than applying a text style. Different to a text frame a table has a table format which includes a.) a table style and b.) a text style, the cell style, whereas a table format can have several cell styles (which also can be set to [None] which will use that according style definition).

You can save a certain table format as default (to make it work for new tables) and also apply a format to an existing table with overriding deviating styles.
