Is it possible to edit a shape - rectangle, say - to create an irregular quadrilateral? I can anchor one corner and 'push' the shape into any parallelogram, but it's always constrained, whereas I want a rectangle in perspective form, i.e with four unequal sides. Can it be done (reasonably simply!) in Designer? Can two or more corners of a rectangle shape be anchored at once? Suggestions (polite!) very much appreciated.

You can convert the rectangle to a curve and use the node tool (A) to pull the shape you want with the individual nodes.

You could also consider the trapezoid tool, @pmcabinet, and skew it.

In addition to the above advice you can also use the Node Tool to manipulate multiple nodes together in different ways.
See attached video for some examples – experimentation will give you lots more possibilities.
Also, you can use the Pen Tool to create an irregular shape without having to manipulate a rectangle (end of video).
