Joachim_L Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 I am not a programmer, so I do not know if this is possible. I would like to have a transparent application background (gray area in the screenshot) when no document is open and that this background is not an "obstacle" to directly click what is under the application. That would be IMO helpful at 1-screen-workplaces like a laptop or tablet. walt.farrell Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Sounds like Separated Mode on Mac, but for Windows. I think GIMP has something like that, where the control frames float separately from the document window, and when there is no document open there is no document window at all. wonderings Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 This is how I work in Indesign, basically the tool bars are floating. They snap to the sides of the screen but with nothing open or minimized I see the desktop. Is this what you are talking about? Quote

At home I have a laptop not attached to a second screen, so it would be helpful to directly click an image without minimizing the application or bringing the explorer window to the front to get access to the images.
