Zachia Johnson-Moses Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Hello affinity community, How can I center an image on the mock up design template? In the image that I attached, there is a blank template that I am suppose to place over with my design. I am trying to find the button that centers my design over the template evenly, without me having to center it perfectly. Normally this would like the design over the template by length and width. Is there a button for this? Thanks! Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 If you enable Snapping then centering something on that design should be as simple as dragging it it to the right/left until the green vertical dynamic guide appears at the center. Then dragging it up/down until the red horizontal dynamic guide appears at the center. Very quick and simple. From the menu, there's also the combination Arrange > Align Middle and Arrange > Align Center. Finally, depending on your OS and your release of Photo, you may also have (or be able to add it) the Alignment tool in the Toolbar, which also allows a two-step process for centering it: (on Windows I don't think this is available in the current retail release, but it's available in the beta). SRThomp Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 glad to see this response - my question is the same but I cannot make this work on a SPREAD. It is going to the center of the spread. I do not find it practical to rely on that green line on a 125 page document as my Hand/Eye coordination has been compromised due to illness. as a old X9 user there was the option to align to page or align to spread. Is there something that I am missing other than calculating center points and relying on the "green line" as a guide? Please and thank you?? Zachia Johnson-Moses 1 Quote

FWIW, this is available in the current Mac retail versions of all 3 apps; including the page, spread, & the two margin options for documents that have single or facing pages. Hope this updates in the future or at least the graphic. Appreciate it. walt.farrell 1 Quote

Can you explain more about what you mean by that? What kind of combined grouping are you referring to & how does it function? I think FrustratedandConfused means the optional set of alignment (and distribution and spacing) icons that a user can add to the Toolbar using View > Customize Toolbar: The Align tools, at least, don't provide any options. They're similar in that regard to the items available via the menus. (Note: This screenshot is from Designer, but the capabilities in Publisher are similar.) That set of disparate capabilities is probably not obvious to a new user, who may think "Oh, I can get all the functions as buttons, without needing multiple clicks to expand the one Alignment button".
