shukokainr Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Hi Everyone, New to the forum and Affinity Photo & this topic may have already been covered but I'm unable to find it so far. The Affinity Photo Help indicates that what I want to do is definitely possible, but it's badly lacking any assistance on HOW to do it (Hey Affinity How about some Step by Step tutorials??) I have an image of some Japanese Kanji in Black (attached) and I want to put a Gold outline around the Kanji, similar to the Apple image in Photo Help. Is anyone able to provide a Step by Step tutorial so I can finish this little project? I've used Adobe Photoshop for several years at the basic of basic levels and am by no means an advanced user. Old Bruce Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Hi and welcome to the forums @shukokainr, The Quickest way is to first go to Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper on the layer with the Kanji. Now use a Layer Effect called Outline. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
shukokainr Posted June 23, 2021 Author Posted June 23, 2021 Thanks @oldbruce , After a bit of fiddling with the settings, was able to get an acceptable result. Much appreciated. Barry Old Bruce 1 Quote
