Quit the app or spawn new window when last window is closed on mac

On the Mac, when you close the last window in Affinity Photo, Publisher, or Designer the app remains active in the dock but clicking on it doesn't do anything. Ideally, when the last window is closed it should close the whole program or when there are no windows open, the program should spawn a new instance of the main window.
