Importing Psds

Hello, as newbie I´m finding it very difficult here .... finding topic theme, when and where topic is finished, then where to find, perhaps its only my perception

and/or familiarisation. Anyway trying to open up third party content and I´m having trouble isolating the text enabling alteration. Looking forward to your advice, big thanks in advance.

Import PSD text as text rather than bitmap and Import PSD smart objects where possible in Preferences >> General should be checked. Otherwise uploading a sample PSD for us to check would be good.

Thanks Joachim! ............ please see accompanying - importing ..... all files have a Affinity Photo Icon - I would like to revert back to what it was before Affinity
installed  ? thanks for any solution... 

please find psd file and screen shot preferences here, thanks can´t find anyway of changing properties to smart objects ?

ps. I have also loaded correct fonts. Can´t remember having problems opening these and other texts/templates before in PS
so it seems to be some sort of general setting somewhere (hopefully) thanks.

I am not sure, why the PSD looks so broken, when I open it, but I would guess, that some Faux styles were used on the left side. Attached a version where all text on the left side is editable although not looking like the rastered text on the right side.

This just means, that you made Affinity Photo the default editor for this file type. But you can change this back with Open With, select another app (or similar).

Thanks for solutions, great!. Hope ok to ask following; How would you change the individual white parts of Icon within the psd. to another colour?
