Affinity Photo Doesn't display image.

Recommended Posts

Affinity Photo Doesn't display image.  This occurs with saved JPG and TIFF files as well as newly created images in Affinity.  See attached screen shot.

macOS 10.15.7 19H1217, late 2015 iMac Retina 5K, 3.2GHz i5, 32GB RAM, AMD Radeon R9 M380 2 GB.  "Background" is checked in the Affinity Layers u.i.  If I render an effect and export it, the new file is rendered and saved correctly, I just can't view it in Affinity photo.

Same files display correctly in the Preview app.

Hey @SantaCruz - welcome to the Affinity Forums.

Can you firstly go to View > New View and see if the image redraws correctly. If it doesn't, it could be low system resources.

Please look at the Activity Monitor and see if anything else is eating the available system resources. A few screenshots might help.

Finally, can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration from Preferences > Performance in the app and see if that makes a difference.
