Siddyon
Hello, I was trying to subtract the red part in the attached image out of the white part. I was expecting it to create a "hole" inside the white part but instead it created an outline and I have no idea what to do next. I'm still new to the program so maybe this is a normal thing but if anybody knows how to do the said operation I would be very appreciated! Here's what it looks like before subtraction: Here's what is looks like afterwards:
R C-R
Is the document set to have a transparent background -- is File > Document Setup > Color tab > "Transparent background" ticked? If not then the white part may just be the document background showing through, not part of the curve. Either way, it would help if you showed the entire curve & the Layers panel, or better yet attach a sample AD document showing the curves. Siddyon
Thank you for replying! I checked to see if transparent background was ticked and no, it isn't ticked. Also, I have a gray rectangle behind the curve. I have no idea how to explain this further so here's the sample document: Sample File.afdesign
R C-R
Subtract the top red curve from the white S-shaped one & then with the while curve still selected in the Layers menu change the Fill Mode to Alternate (Even-Odd). If you want to keep the lower red shape visible, move it above the while curve layer. Sample File Fill mode fix.afdesign includes the history so you can step back & see how this works. Siddyon
It's now worked as I intended. Thank you so much!
PixelPest
For me it´s: select the 3 parts - Layer->Geometry->Merge Curves->Layer->Fillmode->Alternate (Can be subtracted from the black shape if needed)
