KIT FOX
I've assembled a children's book in Publisher using Bell MT font throughout. Example is below. When I export it to .pdf, and view it in PDF Reader, the font on one or more pages looks like the one shown below. If anyone has an idea on why this occurs, I"ll welcome your help. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. I'm not sure which software you mean by "PDF Reader". Is there a more complete name? Does the same problem occur in some other reader? Is it really only on some of the pages, not all of them? That seems odd, but it might mean that you could examine those pages to see what is different about them. Can you create a short demo version of your .afpub file, and a PDF export, that demonstrate the same problem? If so, uploading them here would be helpful. KIT FOX
Hi, & thanks for responding. I was referring to Adobe Reader X. I don't have another reader to try, so don't know if it would read the same. BTW, I'm working in Windows 10. The first time I exported, there was only one page which showed the odd font, close to the beginning of the file. . A couple tries later, two pages showed up, one following the original. The remaining 30 (out of 33 ) were fine. It makes no sense to me either. As you'd said, I think I should take a look at those pages & try to determine what might be different about them; maybe even try reinserting the text again. If that fails, I'll figure out how to do a demo that I can post . Thank you!
walt.farrell
You're welcome. There are other free PDF readers available (such as PDF-XChange Editor). Or you can Open a PDF file in Edge or Firefox or Chrome, and probably other browsers, too. KIT FOX
Thank you; this was the ticket! I opened the file in Firefox, & the fonts looked fine on all pages. Strange that it would be something with Adobe Reader, but apparently that's where the problem lies. Appreciate your sending me in the right direction! walt.farrell
