Alon
Hello,After selecting the objects I want to align to the last selected one, I found myself clicking a lot on: 1. Alignment Menu2. Align Horizontally3. Align Vertically4. ApplyExample: Since it's basically: "Align to Center" of the last object selected * sadly there is no such button or hotkey for that to my knowledge. (or is it hidden?) Is there a way I can make a HOTKEY to do these 4 steps in 1 Click ? I use that a lot and a shortcut for this will make a HUGE different in my workflow. If there is a way to do that, please explain step-by-step so I can follow. Thanks ahead for anyone who helps! 🙂
loukash
Assign keyboard shortcuts to Layer > Alignment > Align […] (or Arrange > Align […] in Photo), and you'll save yourself two steps already. Alon
I've tried that with new shortcut the options but there are no such action such as vertical first, then horizontal then make sure it's based on Last Selected so it's not working. From what I've tried Align Middle and Align Center or Bottom are not working exactly the same as I use the Alignment menu as I show... also there is no option to choose the controls for "Align to: Last Selected" etc.. Is there a way to create shortcut from that specific Alignment Menu? instead of Layer Alignment which not working for what I'm trying to achieve in 1-Click
Staff MEB Posted June 9, 2021 Staff Share Posted June 9, 2021 Hi @Alon, Not exactly a shortcut/1-click but may help: align.mp4 alice090404 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images
Alon
Thanks for trying to help I appreciate it Unfortunately that's not solving my problem: My goal is to make so many tasks as fast as possible. I'm trying to save clicks for such a simple task, and this is also very long consider I do this task A LOT on my workflow, just imagine doing this (or the way I show in my video example) again, again and again... So... I think that the problem is that in Affinity Designer there is no shortkey for the Alignment Button and it's Buttons inside. (not Layer Alignment). If there was either that or a way to make a macro-shortkey (series of commands like in Photoshop) in 1 click, that could be REALLY helpful not just for this specific task but for any repeatable series of commands for big projects. BofG
Your only option would be to use an OS level automation to replicate those mouse moves/clicks. I've made something similar using AutoHotkey on Windows that opens the alignment panel, clicks "space vertically", enters the spacing amount and then clicks apply all from one keyboard press. alice090404

Hi Alon, I understood your post but I'm afraid there's no way to do what you want within the Affinity app with the current feature set. The only thing i can suggest is to create a thread in the Feedback section (if there isn't one requesting the same already) requesting the features you need as this is where the dev team/management keep an eye on when considering improvements/new features. Thank you for your feedback. alice090404 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images
