Matthias
It would be helpful if the non-separated GUI automatically hid when there is no (or no more) actual document open. In separated view this happens already – but only if Designer/Photo is not the foremost app. When there is no document open the Affinity GUI should hide regardless of being foremost or not and regardless of being in separated mode or in non-separated mode. Thus we’d have visual access to the Finder and other open app windows. Just like Apple does it with apps like Final Cut Pro, Motion or the iWork apps. Matthias
Another improvement with separated/non-separated mode: the palette arrangement of both modes is completely unrelated. I don’t know if it is just me but I do arrange the studio palettes in a particular order – regardless of the window mode. As it is now I have to do this twice. Another one: If the left and right sides of the palettes themselves would be “magnetic” then two rows of studio palettes could stick together on one side of the screen instead of having to place them on both sides in order to behave sticky. And yet another one: The studio palettes could be minimize-able to icon size. They would spring to full glory via click or mouseover. The Result: Maximum of screen real estate and yet maximum of control within visual reach. Oh yes, speaking of screen real estate: Why not have the option of placing the Tools horizontally in the Context Toolbar? My 27" iMac has ample width that goes unused and I guess I am not the only designer with a big screen. Ammar
