Welcome to the forums @ari riddle😊  were you trying to import the brushes in Photo?  And, were the brushes vector brushes?  If so they cannot be used in Photo but get loaded into the propcol file all the same.  But if you were trying to import the brushes into Designer, they were probably raster brushes.  In that case, click on the Pixel Persona (icon next to the Affinity icon in top left of your screen).  You will find your raster brushes in that Brushes Panel.  i hope this will help.

im trying in designer, how do I check what type of brushes are? im new in this lol

You can't tell what type they are by looking at the file, but when you import them the notification will tell you if raster or vector brushes were imported, although it is easy to miss that.

The simplest way in Designer to see what they are is to check the Brushes panel in both the Designer & Pixel personas.

BTW, if you imported one set of raster brushes 10 times, you will see 10 copies of that set in the Pixel persona Brushes panel. You can delete all the numbered ones to save file space.

The documentation for the brushes should tell you whether they're vector or raster. If they say they're vector, you'll find them in the Designer Persona. If they say they're raster, you'll find them in the Pixel Persona.

If they don't say, just try both Personas.
