Medm
Hello, it seems, clipping of bitmaps doesn't work. Every time I'm parenting/'childing' a bitmap under a vector form I get the form, filled or not, but the image vanishes (is empty). Thank you! (I'm Adobe-CC-user and bought the software for this feature because I got sick of Photoshop paths, maybe this is a hint.) Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Medm. 36 minutes ago, Medm said: (I'm Adobe-CC-user and bought the software for this feature because I got sick of Photoshop paths. They don't work too, are always inverted, maybe this is a hint.) I think that may well be a hint! The so-called ‘clipping’ paths in Photoshop work like cropping/masking in the Affinity apps (and in CorelDRAW). Affinity/Corel cropping of a bitmap to a vector shape is achieved by making the bitmap a child of the shape, whereas clipping of a bitmap to a vector shape is achieved by making the shape a child of the bitmap. To crop an image to a shape, drag the shape in the Layers panel and drop it onto the thumbnail of the image. tmd
Just for anyone else struggling here - there is a useful video explaining the difference between CLIPPING and MASKING here:https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/318402519/ This was driving me mad though: if you want to do the "dragging over the text" option, make sure you are far enough to the right of the stack layer icon...
