I really am a beginner at this.....

Recommended Posts

Ok, after about 12 hours I give up....

Please could you tell me how I place a photo on a layer above the background (with a photo) layer.

It's a texture shot (I have a folder full of them) which I could use to overlay for various effects.

Every time I open the second photo it appears on top of the previous one, on the same background layer.

Please save my new MacBook as the next step is the open window.... it probably will not get very damaged as we are one the ground floor.

Thanks for any help.

Terry.

Okay, I think I understand the problem.

Do not Open the second photo.

Place the second photo. File > Place... navigate to the folder full of texture shots and choose the one you want.

Just a matter of semantics, Open versus Place versus Import ...

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2
Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I am just a user like yourself, plus I am on the Left Coast / Wet Coast of Canada. Victoria Day was last weekend.
