Total Beginner- Searching for best resources to help with starting from Scratch

Recommended Posts

I am brand new to both affinity designer and most of design itself. I am looking largely to be able to create some logos and a few illustrations, fairly basic ones that will involve displaying text in an interesting way. I am not going to be doing any elaborate drawings or anything too challenging. Given the myriad number of videos and tutorials, does anyone have any suggestions on some of the better "Total Idiot's Guide" type videos to the subject.

I have been playing around with Affinity Designer for about two weeks and love the program, mostly learning by trial and error, watched a number of the official videos. Would really like to get a decent understanding of the most basic concepts.

Thanks for any help!

Have a look at Simon Foster's "Affinity Designer Solid Foundations" course on Udemy.  I've tried a few of his AP courses and he's very good at starting from absolute basics.  The courses aren't free, but Udemy often have sales where they're heavily discounted.
