dorian_grey
Hello, I always loved the fact, that AD uses almost the exact same keyboard shortcuts as the Creative Suite does. This helps switching between those apps tremendously. However, in that context I always found it very odd that "resize around the center" was assigned to CMD instead of ALT (which is "ignore snapping"). Would love to hear the reasoning behind this. I guess, with the upcoming possibility to change keyboard shortcuts I will be able to change this myself. Just wanted to share my thoughts, anyway. 00Ghz
Usually I never use ignore snapping, because I need it all the time. The shortcut modifier is better used for something else I guess. dorian_grey
Sorry, but I don't understand your answer: You never use "ignore snapping", because you need it all the time? I'm just curious, why Affinity Designer's shortcuts mimic those of Photoshop / Illustrator in a lot of ways, but stop when it comes to those options. Staff Ben Posted October 26, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 26, 2015 There are very long threads on this forum about why we chose Alt to override snapping. It is an app-wide convention we adopted for well thought out reasons... Also, modifier keys are not the same as shortkeys/shortcuts - they modulate mouse input for tools. Shortcuts activate tools or issue actions in place of a button click or menu item.
