Stratosf8 Posted May 26, 2021 Share Posted May 26, 2021 Starting today, when I attempted to change the headline type of a text, the program froze and after that whenever I attempt to open any of my files, the UI is frozen. When the Text Styles tab is selected, click on the "hamburger" menu icon and deactivate the "Show Samples" menu item. Staff Sean P Posted May 27, 2021 Staff Share Posted May 27, 2021 Hi Statosf8, As Komatös has said it does sound like the Text Styles Panel (likely the Sample preview) is causing the app to hang whenever it tries to populate the list (which is why its crashing when you attempt to open any file. If you close the Panel down temporarily you may find you can open a file, but will then hang when you try to view it again, so as Komatös recommends disabling the 'Show Samples' option will likely stop the hanging. Unfortunately however I'm unable to recreate it locally - for me the list is populating and not hanging. What version of Windows are you using, and what is the Windows display language, and what language is Affinity set to use? If possible could you also go to %appdata%\Affinity\Designer\ and zip up the 1.0 folder and attach that please, along with a couple of the files that were causing the app to freeze when you attempted to open them. Staff Sean P Posted May 27, 2021 Staff Share Posted May 27, 2021 Hi Stratosf8, I just wanted to update you to let you know we've reproduced this issue and that it should be fixed in the next version. It is caused by a combination of three different things: Your Text Styles having a keyboard shortcut applied to them, your display being set to 100% in Windows and 'Show Samples' enabled.
