oobboo
Hello everybody, I have a problem in Affinit Photo. It is the first time that I try to remove a background from a map. My problem is self explanatory when you look at the attachments. I matched the borders of the right box but then the bezels of the resulting image are cloudy. What am I doing wrong? Thank you Edited May 26, 2021 by oobboo
NotMyFault
Hi, nothing wrong on your side The map image you are using has it's difficulties: lots of jpeg artifacts at the edges. To get a clean mask in this case, you may use other workflows, e.g. - using pen tool to create a curve that covers the globe. Fill color white - using 2 rectangles to cover the text - add all curves to a "compound" shape nest this shape as mask to the map apply a gaussian blur of 0.5 to 1.0 px via layer fx to smooth the edges. map selection.afphoto oobboo 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
