pixartia
Photo, Designer and Publisher - all apps launch painfully slow. Even both Photoshop and Lightroom are starting blazingly fast in comparison with Affinity Suite. Whatever, it doesn't seem OK and any kind of normal on my MacBook Pro 15" 2017 equipped with 3,1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 and 16 GB RAM. Thank you! mliving
I "had" the same problem with my new M1 Max MacBook and I tried a couple of suggestions I found here in the Affinity forums and while one suggestion (copy app to Desktop, rename or delete original app, copy app back to Applications folder) cut the start up time almost in half, it still took quite a bit longer then Publisher which opens in 2 secs. So I was looking in the Preferences in Designer and I noticed that Display rendering was set to OpenGL so I changed it to Metal and restarted my MacBook Pro and Designer and Photo now open in 2 sec. just like Publisher. Hope this helps everyone!
garbagedude
mliving, thanks! This was very helpfull, my 'old' 2019 I7 Macbook Pro is faster with starting the Affinity apps.
mliving
My fast open ride is over! Well tonight I opened Designer and it took at least 45 secs to open. Tried the render toggle, no change. Nothing has changed on my MacBook Pro except for adding a few fonts.
