How to KNOW AP and AD are false positives on virustotal

Recommended Posts

I just submitted Affinity Photo 1.9.2 to virustotal and got one flag as malicious ("Trojan.CookiesStealer.n")

Of course I assume that your files will be fine, but how can I ensure that it was just a false positive? I would be interested to know how the security of the files is ensured.

This is the link: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/0b38908e43fdaedd535de2d423d278470323c2e752ecef381c5a33170aefc3ca/detection

Thanks for your help :)

A better question would be to the developers (Jiangmin/Acronis) of that particular virus-checking software as to why it gives a false positive result for Affinity Photo

Jiangmin hasn't been seen as a mainstream A/V program for years but it was notorious for false positives.

You can never be 100% certain, but the fact that 56 out of 57 A/V  programs didn't find any problems has to provide a high level of confidence.
