Uncle Mez
Hello guys! is it possible to export project (vector) into OBJ file format instead of SVG so work can be done with ease on Apps like Blender, cinema 4D etc. Possible ? Planed ? PixelPest
What do you expect from an OBJ export of a 2d-app? Just asking.
myclay
exported svgs can easily be loaded into 3D programs and then converted to geometry (Object>Convert to>Mesh) Amdival 1 Quote Sketchbook (with Affinity Suite usage) | timurariman.com | artstation store Windows 11 Pro - 23H2 | Ryzen 5800X3D | RTX 3090 - 24GB | 128GB | Main SSD with 1TB | SSD 4TB | PCIe SSD 256GB (configured as Scratch disk) |
PixelPest
I know - mostly as extruded splines - but the question was another one: what kind of 3d data can a 2d drawing app generate to build an OBJ file without z-depth?

Maybe, better preservation of geometry and less struggle when transfered to a 3D app. I've nothing against svg but it seem like .obj is much better in some cases Quote Never be the Same Again ! ---Dell Optiplex 5090 SFFIntel Core i5-10500T @2.30GHz with 12GiB 2666MHz DDR4Intel UHD Graphics 630 for 10th Generation M.2 2280, 512 GB, PCIe NVMe Gen3 x4, Class 40 SSDWindows 11 Pro x64 22H2 + LibreOffice 7.5.
PixelPest
Mmh - I don´t have/see any difficulties with SVG and PDF in 3d apps. (In my case I prefer SVG as it differentiates between single+combined strokes.) And I guess the output will just be planes or nGons. I'd prefer splines over geometry - no question.😉 Uncle Mez

myclay
whoops of course, forgot to add; turning those into a relief/3D geometry could be an idea Quote Sketchbook (with Affinity Suite usage) | timurariman.com | artstation store Windows 11 Pro - 23H2 | Ryzen 5800X3D | RTX 3090 - 24GB | 128GB | Main SSD with 1TB | SSD 4TB | PCIe SSD 256GB (configured as Scratch disk) |
