Mikauo Posted May 16, 2021 Share Posted May 16, 2021 The last week I have been experiencing the issue where Affinity Designer crashes after I save my document. When I try to open Designer again it just wont work and I have to restart my computer. No save data is lost however, so the crash really happens after the saving is done. Is this a known issue or something new? I would prefer to not share this document as it is part of a project of mine, but if it is needed to solve the problem then I can share it of course. Mikauo Posted May 17, 2021 Author Share Posted May 17, 2021 I checked it and no, this seems to only happen to this specific document. Funny enough, I did notice that the new document I created and saved had a thumbnail, while all my other document do not have one. This is a different problem though. I've been able to open it on both Mac and Windows and have been able to save it without issue. It also has a thumbnail for me. Where abouts are you saving to? I am not sure if it is just inconsistent or that the problem has fixed itself. (The thumbnail problem is still there, but that goes for all my Affinity documents.) Make sure in Preferences on General that you have 'Save Thumbnails with documents' enabled. Also for the crash, can you see if you've any crash reports that related to roughly the last time the crash happened? Mikauo Posted May 19, 2021 Author Share Posted May 19, 2021 Actually I read it wrong, these are all too old to relate to the sudden crashes, and there are no newer reports. Also for the thumbnails, I have that options enabled yes. I also checked my windows options and those are also good, so I don't know what causes that problem.
