WORKABLE PLUGINS FOR AFFINITY PHOTO

Recommended Posts

After decades of using Adobe Photoshop as a graphic designer, now that I'm retired I found I could no longer afford one of my favorite programs. But just recently I stumbled onto Affinity Photo, trialed it, liked it ... and bought it. Now I'm trying to track down plugins that will work with it that are similar to Eye Candy.

Can anyone recommend sources for these kind of plugins that actually work for Photo without any glitches?

Thanks for your time.

Not sure if it gives a good representation of current state of plugins.

Do you know better? Insert a link here.

I'm afraid not, but sometimes no information is better than old/poor/misleading information. ;-)

Affinity Photo - Affinity Designer - Affinity Publisher | macOS Sonoma (14.2) on 16GB MBP14 2021 with 2.4 versions

Mentioning that the site has not been updated in a long time is real information.

That much is evident from the AP version numbers in the descriptions -- I don't think any of them mention any AP version newer that 1.5.x.

I just tried the Eye Candy 7 trial with the latest released version of Photo and it works!

I have also been sucessful with filter forge for textures and effects, Jixipix  seems to work well too for artistic effects

If you think about it - then the vast majority of information available in libraries, on the Internet, even here on the forum is completely outdated.
So they should somehow be liquidated, burned - so that they are not so harmful? Or should they serve as a starting point for obtaining more and perhaps more up-to-date information? I assume that the OP will handle it, and we will not decide for him 🙂

Is your copy of AP from the app store or purchased directly from Serif.

That explains it. Although I can't get the EC preview to show while using the AP Beta.

Has anyone managed to get Flexify 2 to work with AP?   It installed no problem, but when I try to use it I get the messages"“Flexify 2.plugin” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified"., and "macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware."  I used this for a long time with Photoshop on Windows then changed to a Mac and AP and now can't use it.  Any suggestions?
