Laura Ess
A new user and I did do a search to see if this request had already been made, and couldn't find any requests, nor could I find in the program any options if this already exists. .My suggestion is this: Add options for the user to be able to set both the colours used for, and the size of the background transparency grid. For example. below is a comparison between the Affinity Photo Background Grid and one I configured using KRITA. I have a few visual disabilities and find it much easier to spot a coloured transparency grid than a default white and grey grid. Hopefully adding this option is simple to do and help others as well. Making it darker or lighter is NO HELP at all if it only appears as tiny squares on my screen, and having fixed colours means that - with the visual impairments I have, certain elements on screen would be INVISIBLE. Having different colours is part of my suggestion and that's why.

Could it not be added to previous suggestion, that in addition to darkening/lightening the chessboard, it would be good to be able to adjust its color? Laura Ess
Yes, I can do that. Especially if it helps some additions or options.
