I would love to have this added to Affinity aswell.

In the meantime i think i've found a pretty fast workaround.

1. Select the three nodes with the node tool.

2. Click the a Alignment box in the toolbar, and choose Space vertically (choose Space horizontally if you got an horizontal line), and hit apply.

It's now in the middle

An excellent workaround, indeed, but please be aware that unless the line is perfectly vertical or horizontal you need to choose both ‘Space vertically’ and ‘Space horizontally’.

This seemingly straight forward feature still doesn't exist in 2.0. Please consider including this on the roadmap.

There is now a "Split Curve(s) after selected node(s)" item in the context toolbar for the Pen & Node Tools of AD 2. Is this not what you want?

Hi @upu,
Select the initial node of the segment you want to add a node in the middle, then click Split curve(s) after selected node(s) in the context toolbar (Node Tool).

Also works with the Pen Tool if you pre-select the node(s) with the Node tool, easily done while using the Pen Tool with the CMD key (Mac) to temporarily toggle to the Node Tool.
