Add used colors

Recommended Posts

This works in Designer only due to the lack of it in Photo and Publisher.

Make some new and temporary object and choose from the palette a Used Colour now go to Select > Select Same > Fill Colour.

I am assuming you are not using the feature Create Palette from Document because that does not choose the actual colours, it guesses and gives a selection of possible, or close to, colours.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2
Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Add used colors shuld add colors to liblary as global colors, other way it is useless >> I have colors without info - connection to objects, so I now that color is used in document but I dont know where ??

That would be really really useful

Just an option to force globals document wide or an app wide tick box preference which defaults Affinity to global would be a massive time saver, although I've been waffling on about this for years and not heard of any comeback from the moderators

Select same is a great gateway to sort out this kind of stuff and is probably my favourite addition of the missing basics over the past 4 years

More on that flawed, er, "feature" here:

There's a way to batch convert regular swatches to global, but it involves an external macro utility:
