In v193 APub's Photo persona in the Lightning live filter UI the Color setting* always increases the Distance, regardless of using color sliders or typing values. And regardless of the layer object type (and whether grouped or not grouped). This issue doesn't happen in the APh app.

*EDIT: just noticed that each option in the Live Lighting window increases the Distance.

Interesting.

Doesn't happen in Windows.

Is this specific to the one document, or does it happen in other documents, too?

Can't reproduce, but I have a suspicion:

What's your application language setting in Preferences > General?

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2

I've tried with English US and English UK.

Yes. I noticed it in an .afpub first + reproduced it for the video in a newly created .afphoto, too.  v193_lightning.afphoto

macOS: German, 10.4.6 | APub: English | keyboard: German

What combination is yours?

By the way, I did not notice your color well issue but still the known comma/decimals bug:

It's quite a complex mix-up on El Capitan:

  • Affinity apps are all set to EN-US
  • keyboard layout is my custom hybrid based on CH-DE with additional Czech diacritics and some other tweaks
  • primary OS language is EN (default, based on US) with region CH, but somewhat customized to work around a decimal and thousands separator bug in FileMaker on CH systems

Thanks. [ Your setup looks like "Don't try this at home" or a kind of security protection, too complex to get copied or reproduced. Lucky you that Serif respects this special case "by design" and made the lighting issue not appear – possibly any lucrative Swiss connection 😎 ]

Maybe my Lighting Distance issue is (also) related to the color value field issue:

Haha, all my Macs are full of "don't try this at home on your dad's computer" tweaks…
The secret: Don't try this at home unless you have multiple bootable backups handy!

The last time I lost some data must have been in the early 1990s when I sat down on a chair while still having a 3.5" floppy in the back pocket of my jeans… :D

Still couldn't reproduce it, but the plot thickens!

Window size with app language "English" (=UK):

Window size with app language "English (US)", "Default", also "German" (in German of course):

Rebooted in Catalina and still can't reproduce. Apart from the different panel width, that is.
