Can't replace missing fonts globally

Recommended Posts

Hi!

When opening old psd files Publisher tells me that some fonts are missing. I get a nice list and an option ("Substitution") to replace all instances with another font of my choice (see picture). At least I think this is how it is supposed to work.

But: After I chose a substitution font and hit "close" Publisher still tells me about the missing font! Even though my document view shows the new font. I have to manually replace each instance by hitting "search" in the window with all checklist problems. This works, but its a bit tedious.

Am I using the feature wrong?

Cheers,

If there are some font leftovers, couldn't you use the Find and Replace panel? Click the cog, then Format, right pulldown and select Missing there. Then replace with the font of your choice. Or easier: Upload your file for the developers to examine.

This is by design. Font substitution is temporary: it allows you to work on a document even if one or more fonts are unavailable on your computer, but because it doesn’t replace the original fonts they will appear correctly when the document is loaded on a computer which has those fonts available. For permanent replacement, use the ‘Find & Replace’ feature.
