Hi @Klaus E.,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

From your crash report, this appears to be an issue with Metal Hardware Acceleration and your GPU - can you please navigate to Affinity Photo > Preferences > Performance and untick Metal from the bottom of this dialog.

Restart the Affinity app as prompted and then try painting/erasing once again - does this stop the app from crashing please?

We'd also like a little more information about your document in Affinity, to see if we can replicate this issue here. Can you please confirm what a 'typical' document looks like for you in Affinity Photo? For example are you only editing 32/bit documents, are you editing very large canvases etc?

Hi Dan,

many thanks for your help. Affinity Photo no longer crashes.

I switched off the 'Metal Speedup' there and now everything goes much faster. This option should be disabled by default. 😀
