Hey guys and gals, I've been having a really frustrating time with affinity designer recently. When I had started using the program it appeared to be fine, but for the longest time now I've had issues with the workspace being warmer and the export being cooler. It's quite painful as many of my designs need to have accurate colors to match a theme. I find it especially weird because the colors remain true to the workspace in the export preview.

Things I have tried already:

  • Factory Resetting
  • Re-installing the program
  • Fiddling with color profiles

If anyone could help that would be amazing. I would be using the program a lot more often if I didn't have this issue.

Hi @LCAnder,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

As can be seen in the above links, if the apps canvas is displaying as off-white or your exported designs don't look the same outside of Affinity, this is usually due to a colour profile applied to your monitor, through your OS.

Please open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) then paste the following string and press OK:

colorcpl

In the window that opens, you can now follow the below steps from the FAQ above -

  1. In the Devices tab, select the correct monitor from the Devices dropdown menu and make sure Use my settings for this device is selected.
  2. Now click Add... and select sRGB IEC61966-2.1 from the list and click OK. The sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile should now appear in the Profiles associated with this device: section.
If there is already a profile associated with the monitor, please use the Remove option first, to ensure the monitor is using the newly appointed sRGB profile.
  3. Select the profile and click Set as Default Profile to make it the default.
  4. Close the Colour Management window and restart your Affinity app.

Your canvas should now be in white as expected. If you have multiple monitors attached to your computer, please repeat the steps above by selecting your other monitor(s) from the Device dropdown first.

Please do let us know if this helps!
