Rico21 Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Hi everyone I hope someone can help me. I have two artboards in my Affinity Designer Document. I set a Bleed of 3mm. But when I want to export the document to a PDF, the bleed is only displayed on the first artboard. And I dont know why. Is there a hidden setting for each artboard? Or do I miss something else? Old Bruce Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Hi and welcome to the forums @Rico21, Are you using the File > Export... menu command or the Export Persona? If I am going to export more than one thing I use the Export Persona and select the slices in the Slices panel then set the export format and options so the options are applied to all the artboards (in this case). If you don't have all the desired slices selected when you set the options ( include Bleed in this case) then the option will be applied only to the one slice which was selected. Rico21 Posted May 11, 2021 Author Posted May 11, 2021 Hi Old Bruce I use File > Export. I got the same results when I use Export Persona. Even if I export it in two files. And both artboards or slices are selected. Any other Ideas? Quote
Old Bruce Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 How are you aware that there is no bleed on one of the artboards? Do you have something extending into the bleed and another thing butted right against the artboard's edge? Rico21 Posted May 12, 2021 Author Posted May 12, 2021 Yes, exactly. Please look at the Print-Screens. I want that the second Page also extends over the cutting edges. Quote
Staff Lee D Posted May 12, 2021 Staff Posted May 12, 2021 @Rico21As long as both artboards have bleed areas setup and when exporting to PDF you make sure Include Bleed is enabled it should be on both. Can you see the bleed areas as you look at your document in Designer? If you can provide a copy of your document to be checked, as it may be something quick and easy to resolve. Quote
Rico21 Posted May 12, 2021 Author Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) Well, I think they are both set. But I would be happy if you can help me. I really think I am missing something. Edited May 12, 2021 by Rico21 Quote

Opened your file and tried a few PDF exports and I have the same result - sorry Rico21 I've had this problem a few times in the past - never found a solution for a multi artboard documents (before Publisher) my designer workaround was to do all pages separately - thankfully publisher always nails it. Now if I'm doing book illustrations in Designer, usually 3 pages at a time, I always make the page size to include bleed (so in this case trim size + 6mm W & H) then export to size and put the book together in Publisher which handles bleed properly Sorry boss Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 2.2.0 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6, Sonoma 14.7.3 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.6.2 Betas 2.6. www.bingercreative.co.uk
Old Bruce Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 The Levels layer and the Perspective layers are the source of the problem. Rasterize and delete the Levels and all is good. Plus you have a lot of stuff that is not showing, text and a curve. Leave that to the reader as an exercise. lacerto and Rico21 2 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. Rico21 Posted May 12, 2021 Author Posted May 12, 2021 Hey Dazmondo77. Thank you for your time. Hey Old Bruce. You got the Solution! Thank You. But what do you mean with ... not showing, text and a curve. Leave that to the reader as an exercise. Quote
Old Bruce Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 There is some text stuff which doesn't show, I'll let you find it.
